Started a new internship!

Overall Thoughts:

This opportunity marks one of my first real roles in the realm of cybersecurity and I am excited to learn these valuable skills but also change my life for the better. As a current Cyber Security Support Engineer (Intern) at Log(N) Pacific, I bring forth a comprehensive skill set honed through the successful completion of my degree and attainment of the Security+ certification along with other projects. Leveraging this educational background and professional certifications, I actively contribute to fortifying cloud security by implementing robust configurations using Azure Private Link, Network Security Groups, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and ensuring compliance with Azure Regulatory Standards for NIST 800-53. My responsibilities encompass troubleshooting and providing essential support for critical Microsoft Azure services, including Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM), Virtual Machines, Azure Monitor, and Azure Active Directory. Consistently, I resolve an average of 5 issues per week, significantly contributing to the seamless operation and security of our cloud environment. Furthermore, my dedication to ongoing professional development includes the mastery of query development using Kusto Query Language (KQL). This expertise enables me to effectively support Log Analytics workspace and Microsoft Sentinel, culminating in the creation of 4 new SIEM dashboards and workbooks. These initiatives have notably elevated our operational visibility and fortified our threat detection capabilities.

Propelling into Future Roles:

By integrating my academic foundation, Security+ certification, additional projects and practical experience gained as a Cyber Security Support Engineer, I am poised to advance into a role in Security Operations. My aspiration is to leverage this skill set to proactively mitigate risks, innovate security solutions, and lead initiatives aimed at fortifying digital asset protection while continually driving improvement within the cybersecurity landscape.
